Volunteers are the heart of FRIENDS WAY and the families are its soul.  Approximately 20 volunteers are needed to ensure the best quality of care for the groups each week.  We invite anyone who is caring, sensitive and committed to take advantage of the volunteer opportunities at FRIENDS WAY.

Volunteer Opportunities

Group Facilitators
Facilitators will work with a specific group of children, teens or adults by helping them safely and openly express their feelings of grief through age appropriate activities using the expressive arts. Hours are 5:30-9pm every other week on Monday or Tuesday evenings. Professional training is provided. We ask for a commitment of one year and just 8 hours a month. Dinner Hosts
Individuals or small groups needed to help set-up, serve and clean up dinner before the support groups. Hours Monday or Tuesday, 6-7:15pm. Contact Laurie Fitzgerald at (401) 921-0980.

Office Help
Office help includes mailings, copying, and computer data entry. Call (401) 921-0980.

Special Event Support
Help us organize fun fundraising events. Our events include golf tournaments, a Pelican Plunge at Roger Wheeler State Beach, Angels Among Us Gala, A Night at the Pawtucket Red Sox and Walk RI. Board Members
Concerned individuals are needed to help grow and progress this 4 year old center. Board meetings are scheduled on the first Thursday of each month from 5:30-7pm. Interested applicants should contact Executive Director, Carolyn Kyle, at 724-8400 x212 or c.kyle@friendsway.org
