FRIENDS WAY’s Diamonds in the Sky Gala!
The event for FRIENDS WAY is a special way to say “Thank you!” to your friends and associates while supporting this critical program for bereaved children and families.
The children and their families who turn to FRIENDS WAY (Families Reaching Into Each New Day) have experienced a significant loss that is often traumatic. Offering a safe haven for these families to grieve is what makes FRIENDS WAY unique. As Rhode Island’s only bereavement center dedicated to children, FRIENDS WAY provides an average of 160 families per year with age-appropriate, peer-based grief groups facilitated by mental health professionals and extensively trained volunteers. The FRIENDS WAY model of peer-based support helps children and teens work through their grief with others also struggling with similar feelings of loss.
Since FRIENDS WAY is a nonprofit organization that offers bereavement support at no charge to families, our fundraising efforts are essential to our ability to continue assisting children and families who turn to us in their grief. It is your generosity that will help sustain our program and give our families the hope and promise of a brighter tomorrow.
All proceeds from the 2025 Diamonds in the Sky gala funded FRIENDS WAY’s critical programs, including our traumatic grief from sudden death program and our urban groups for children of color.
